Individual sundials designed to your requirements. Each sundial is calibrated during manufacture, to tell true time at any location and including your choice of wording. Any size or shape is possible. Natural slate retains its beauty for hundreds of years and brass will weather with time to a natural antique finish. See the sundial man bases page for a range of natural stone sundial bases. If you measure your own sundial base, a sundial can be made to fit it perfectly. Brass sundials show quarter hours, slate sundial engraved with hours only. The correct hours will be engraved for your location. Dials made for further north will have more hours because of the longer summer days at these latitudes than in the south.

Calibrated for your location, your own wording and UK delivery.

1. Choose either brass or slate dial plate.

2. Choose the brass Gnomon Type        

                                          A               B            C

3. Choose the Size       20cm : 22cm : 25cm : 29cm : 35cm (or special size)

4. Choose the Shape      Octagonal           Round          Square

(Round Horizontal Sundials are the easiest to set up to tell the time)

5. Choose either Roman (VIII, IX, X) or Arabic (8, 9, 10) Numbers

6. Choose your own wording, verse, or a traditional motto. (include the Year, Maker and Latitude if you wish)

7. Find the Post Code for the location of the sundial and email this and your six choices   to nick@sundialman.co.uk

MOTTOS (Please give exact details when ordering)

Any wording may be included on horizontal sundials and is included in the price. Remember though that too many words will crowd the dial and may be too small to read easily.

There is a small selection of traditional mottoes on the mottos page. Alternatively personalise your dial with your own wording for a truly unique dial.

LOGOS & GRAPHICS (Ask for quotation)

It is possible to engrave designs onto brass, or carve them into slate. These may be in addition to or instead of any wording. Please send details of graphic for a quotation. An equation of time graph can be added to your dial which enables true time to be converted to mean time (sundial time to watch time).
